I earned my first camera by selling greeting cards from an ad in the back of Boy's Life Magazine while a Cub Scout. After working for weekly and then daily newspapers as a photographer, did undergraduate work in Imaging Sciences at Rochester Inst. of Technology and graduate work in Optical Sciences at the Univ. of Arizona. For a decade worked as a Photo-Optical Engineer on projects for NASA, the U.S. Air Force, the microelectronics and micrographics industries. Moved into publishing in a sales role for computer publications eventually becoming publisher of several print and online publications, including Jamboree Today, the daily news publication at the Nat'l Scout Jamboree. While managing the website I built for my Scout district, started making portraits of new Eagle Scouts in In order to improve the quality of the Eagle Portraits I joined PPA (Professional Photographers of America), Dallas PPA, and Texas PPA. This lead to PPA awarding me a Master of Photography degree in and an invitation to join the American Society of Photographers. Only PPA Master Photographers are invited to join ASP, whose membership is about 2% of PPA members.

This awakening clearly heavily impacted the young Shore whose eye was drawn to everyday objects as though he was seeing everything for the very first time.
