The Call of God
According to the biblical account, God called Abraham to leave his home in Haran and travel to a new land. God promised to give him a son, to make him the father of a great nation, and to bless all the nations of the earth through his children. Abraham obeyed and set out on a journey that would eventually lead him to the land of Canaan (modern-day Israel).
