Ann M. Martin grew up in Princeton, New Jersey, and always enjoyed writing even before she was old enough to write. She would dictate stories to her mother to write them down for her. After graduating from Smith College, she became a teacher, and then an editor of children’s books before becoming a full-time writer. With million copies sold to date, The Baby-sitters Club made her a household name. By the time the series ended in , there were over ,, books in print from the original Baby-sitters Club and spinoff series, The Baby-sitter&#;s Little Sister. I was fortunate to come across this out-of-print book at a thrift store. This is an excellent autobiography that I would recommend to any Ann Martin fan or children's book author.

This biography and the books from The Babysitter Club are no longer mine. Don't get me wrong, they are fantastic novels for kids, but over the years, my reading preferences have changed, so I gave all the volumes to the Salvation Army.
