Vodní nádrž Fojtka (někdy nazývána Fojtecká přehrada nebo Mníšecká přehrada) je přehradní nádrž na potoce Fojtka v obci Mníšek (k. ú. Mníšek u Liberce), 6 km severovýchodně od centra Liberce, postavená v letech až Zděná hráz je 11 m vysoká a m dlouhá. Celá nádrž má rozlohu 7 hektarů s průměrnou hloubkou okolo 10 m. Přehrada byla postavena podle projektu kdysi nejlepšího projektanta na vodní díla v Evropě Otto Intze, který projektoval všechny přehrady v povodí Lužické nisy. Zdroj: Wikipedia

Nejstarším dokumentem, ve kterém je zmínka o Mníšku, je poplatnický rejstřík (urbář) z roku V této době bylo v Mníšku 18 selských usedlostí, 2 pily, 1 mlýn na obilí a 1 mlýn na tříslo. K těmto usedlostem patřilo korců (= ha) pozemků. Mníšek tehdy patřil k panství Frýdlant. To potvrzuje také zápis v urbáři panství z roku
Hrad a město Frýdlant, stejně jako jeho široké okolí, patřilo již od století pánům z Bibersteina. Rod pocházel ze Saska. V Českém království se usadil Rulko (Rudolf) z Bibersteina, když v roce koupil od krále Přemysla Otakara II. hrad Frýdlant.
